you were just outside my window

05 Feb 2008

If you're ever at my window again smoking a cigarette
and you tap and you holler and you debate don't forget
I've got a bell you can ring to awake me and see me
It's not often that I'm early to sleep.

If you've got things in your head and your phone is dead
wake me up, don't you dare hesitate
cause once I am woken I'll put on my clothes and
I'll share your smoke and we'll wait.

Till the things on your mind leave with exhaling
and if we find the nicotine to be failing
I'll be of some console and tend your weary soul
And together we'll light another.
